Shapes all around us!

Today I set the children a challenge.
How many shapes can you find in our school environment.
It was a great chance to get out in the sunshine!
We discovered there are shapes EVERYWHERE!

Circles and semi-circles

Hayden found semi-circles

A triangle frame

Lily found long skinny rectangles

More rectangles

Hayden and Huxley squeezed into a circle

Ovals in the tunnel

Sion climbing across a square

Lots of rectangles here

Diamonds in the fence

Lots of circles

The new vege gardens are rectangles

The center of the flower is a circle

Shapes, shapes, shapes!

We have been doing a lot of learning about shapes.
The children had a chance to make their own shape creations,
naming and counting all of the shapes that they used.
Check out their creativity!

Shakey shakey!

We have been doing lots of learning about dairy farms and what cows produce.
Today we made butter from cream.
Each group had a jar and some cream.

Then all we had to do was SHAKE!

Yum - the cream separated and turned into buttermilk and butter!

Next we tried our butter.  It was soft, smooth, creamy and delicious!

Dairy Farm visit

We had a great day 'down on the farm'.
After a long bus ride we arrived at our destination.
We had perfect weather and the calves and cows were very well behaved!
Check out the photos!
Feeding the calves milk

"It sucked my whole hand" said Sydney.

Beautiful rural views!

Hungry calves

Those udders look full - time for milking?

A short walk to have a look at the big cows

Off to the milking shed

What a great day.
What was your favourite part of the day?
