Netball experts

Today we had our last netball skills session.
We have had four sessions all together.
Today we played a game of netball in teams.  We had to shoot the ball into the hoop.
Lots of goals were scored.
Each team did a great job showing off the skills they have learned.
All children showed improvement in their catching and passing abilities.
Check out the photos below.

We started each session with a warm-up

Buddy class

On Friday we hosted whole school assembly with our buddy class - room 15.  Well done to Isla and Aliyah, Mitchell and Metui who introduced each assembly item.  Have a look at our educreations below.  The children worked together in groups with their buddies to research key words to do with ANZAC day.

Welcome to Term 2!

I hope you all enjoyed the school holidays and are ready for another term full of learning and fun.
I spent 12 sunny and fun filled days on the Gold Coast of Australia with my family over the break, the first time we have been overseas on holiday together.  My favourite time was spent in Surfers Paradise.

Week One was a busy one for Room 7.
Firstly we welcomed two new children to our class,  Bryn and Sion have had a great first week getting to know their new classmates and checking out all of the cool learning resources in Room 7.

The whole class worked on a new puzzle.

It was quite tricky and took perseverance and team work to complete!

On Friday Redwood school held a 'Fields of remembrance' ceremony to mark ANZAC day.
Together Room 7 created a wreath which was placed at the bottom of the flag pole
by Taylor and Bryn.
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou, we will remember them.

Mrs Goodin spoke
Every class presented a wreath

Just before the ceremony Taylor's mum came into class to show us a jacket worn in WW2.  The children had a lot of questions, and had the chance to feel the jacket.  They were amazed at the good condition of the jacket and how heavy it was.
Thank you for sharing this special garment with us.

Thank you Kerrianne and Taylor
