Wibble Wobble, Albatross!

Today Jayden and Millie read the story Wibble wobble, Albatross.  A short story about the life at sea of an Albatross and what happens when it comes back to land.

The last page is a diagram showing the 3 metre wingspan of the Royal Albatross.
Jayden and Millie were set a challenge - to find out what 3 metres looked like.
Jayden had used the metre rulers before, they worked together to solve the problem.
Check out their diagram - great work!

Cross country

Yesterday the whole school went to Redwood Park to run our cross country.
We had been practicing running so it was great to finally get to race day!
Everyone did a great job.
It was hard work but all the children cheered and encouraged each other.
The children all showed great RED values!

It's all about maths!

Here is the problem:

The children drew pictures and used teddies to solve the problem for themselves.
This is how some of us solved the problem
Jayden wrote - 11+1+0+0=12

We discovered that there were a lot of ways to solve the problem.
Some children shared the teddies evenly between the tables, some children left some tables empty, some children wrote the number sentence to represent their solution.

Let's get creative!

During our inquiry we have been striving to answer the question What changes, why and how do we respond to it?  At the moment we are focusing on thinking creatively to come up with a lot of ideas to make a change in our school.

We brainstormed all that we knew about being creative.

We had a chance to be creative with lots of different equipment.
Check out our creativity!
